How do we work?

We customize our services based on your specialized requests and home needs. We like to schedule a face to face meeting with our potential clients at their property. This meeting gives us a chance to meet the client and accurately assess both your property and personal needs. All of our clients’ needs vary and we like to determine what services are required during this meeting.

What are your rates?

Our home check rates range in price from $30 – $45 per insurance inspection depending on your location. There may also be a mileage fee for travel if you are located in a remote area, such as Cosens Bay.

Snow removal rates vary based on your driveway size, construction, and its steepness. As a standard snow removal rates range between $50 – $65 per attendance.

Our concierge rates vary but we openly discuss our rates in our face to face meeting and they are provided in our service agreement.

Do we have to sign an agreement?

Our insurance policy requires that all clients sign a service agreement. There are no stipulations to the amount of time you contract our services for. For example, if you need our services for only one month, we accept that. Most clients just contact us year after year using the original service agreement and ‘turn on’ the seasonal service if it is not a year round arrangement.

Are different people/employees going through our house for the home checks?

No, the only person entering your home would be the owner and or a bonded employee unless there is an unusual circumstance where neither is able to attend. If that does happen, we have a backup plan in place where one of our employees would do the inspection, but this would be very rare, if at all. All of our employees have a criminal record check completed and you are covered under our insurance policy.

Are you insured?

Portico carries an extensive commercial liability insurance policy and we also have crime and fraud insurance in the event there is any incident with an employee or sub-contractor. If you request a criminal record check, we are happy to provide one. We are registered with WorkSafe BC.

All sub-contractors that work for us, on a client’s behalf, carry general liability insurance and, as a standard, they must have WorkSafe BC clearance.

How do we pay for our services?

Portico issues monthly invoices (to whatever company/name you provide) and sends them via email. We accept all forms of payment including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, e-transfer, cheque. When you sign an agreement with us you have the option of providing credit card details, which are kept in an electronic vault and we follow your instructions for use.
